Pinehurst area
Nestled in the heart of North Carolina’s Sandhills region, Pinehurst is the perfect place to call home. Comprised of the three towns of Pinehurst, Southern Pines and Aberdeen, the Sandhills region offers a wide variety of shopping, dining and outdoor activities to suit many lifestyles.
Outdoor Activities:
Known as the Home of American Golf, the Pinehurst Area is home to many nationally ranked golf courses, including: the world-famous Pinehurst Resort (host of the 1999, 2005 and upcoming 2014 US Open Golf Championships), Forest Creek Golf Club, Pine Needles (host of the 1996, 2001 and 2007 US Women’s Open Golf Championships), and The National Golf Club.
In addition to golf there is a wide range of other activities with which to be involved, including: equestrian activities, hiking, mountain-biking, kayaking, tennis, soccer and even inline hockey!
Dining:
The Sandhills area offers many dining choices, ranging from familiar chain restaurants, to sushi, to fast food, to local gourmet restaurants. Below are just several links to local restaurants.
Shopping:
There are a large number (and growing) of places to shop in the Sandhills area. We have a variety of large chain retailers, in addition to many quaint local shops and boutiques.
Education:
The Pinehurst Area has many fine schools for primary, secondary and post-secondary education.
